Epicondylitis

Print
Epicondylitis is a common condition that affects the elbow. It is an inflammation or damage to the bony elbow epicondyle. Epicondylitis is characterised by pain affecting the bony parts of the elbow - either on the outside (tennis Elbow) or on the inside (Golfer's Elbow). Epicondylitis normally starts with a sharp pain or discomfort felt in the elbow area and/or in the forearm. The pain worsens with movements and especially with repetitive type of movements as performed in certain sports (i.e. tennis or golf) or during work (i.e. keyboard use).

Epicondylisis is difficult to treat and the conventional treatment methods may not always be successful. The sufferers often need high doses of pain killers, anti-inflammatories or even steroids to achieve meaningful pain relief. Such therapies are frequently associated with unwanted side effects that many people cannot tolerate.

Currently, there is a large demand for modern therapies that are effective, but natural and free of unwanted side effects. Laser photo therapy is proven effective in the treatment of epicondylitis. Biostimulating and energising laser light combats inflammation and activates body's own self healing capabilities.  Effective pain relief is promptly achieved with movements and mobility is regained fast. Laser photo therapy offers any modern medical clinic a gentle, yet very effective and safe treatment option that widens the clinic's therapeutic capabilities.
