Tendinopathy (Tendon Injury)

Print
Tendinopathies are tendon injuries caused mechanically by overuse and repetitive or rapid movements, leading to tendons becoming painful and/or torn. The most prone to such painful tendon injuries are the tendon parts close to or attached to the bones.

The friction can also lead to the formation of lime/calcium deposits that further exacerbate the tendon pain. Additionally, disturbances in metabolic processes or presence of metabolic conditions could also contribute to the development and exacerbation of tendinopathies.

Laser phototherapy is very effective in the treatment and/or management of tendinopathies and the associated pain. Application of laser light works primarily on the pain, reducing it effectively and rapidly. Improved blood flow has a positive effect on the removal of calcium deposits. Disappearance of pain enables the sufferers regain their mobility and return to the normal active life.

Laser phototherapy presents an effective and safe therapeutic modality of choice for patients concerned by the side effects caused by pain killers.
