Tenosynovitis

Tenosynovitis means inflammation of the sheath that surrounds the synovium (the tendon). The wrist is the most frequently affected joint. The condition is inflammatory and is characterised by a sharp or pulling pain, tenderness, swelling and a painful grating sensation in the joint (i.e. the wrist).
